X-Wing (X-W)
The X-Wing is probably the standard rebel craft. It is fast and maneuverable
if you treat it the right way. The flight technique for the X-W is very similar
to a T/I. To make this possible, put your shield recharge to fully directed to
engines, the shields fully forward and your laser to maximum. Link your lasers
to quad lasers. If you manage to do two to three full hits with the quad lasers,
your opponent will be gone. You should start with this from a distance about
1.9 clicks and be finished with it to 1.6 then dodge. Like in every craft, the
timing of dodging is the most important thing here to make this. Unfortunately,
the computer is not very useful to train X-W offline. When your distance is
under 0.8 clicks, you ought to have only two lasers linked or even just one laser
to have a higher frequency of firing, especially if you are not that good in
quick and exact targeting. When it comes to turning, you should minimize lasers
and shields as much as possible to make a quick turn. You can choose to use
all four lasers if you get a clean shot on your opponent after turning otherwise
use two lasers linked if you have to fly behind him. Even if he is directly
in front of you and is flying up, don't shoot directly on him, try it a little
above him and it will work better. Hotshot pilots set all energy into engines
but then almost every quad has to hit. The speed will give you advantage at
avoiding the enemy quads but will lower your laser energy in the fastest way
possible.
